I have been working as a photojournalist and newspaper editor in the Western Massachusetts area for more than 18 years.

I hold a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Photography from the University of Hartford and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. I have also been teaching photography in the Art Department at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts since 1996.

I am knowledgeable and proficient in all photographic formats including large format view cameras; medium format; 35mm, and digital. I have extensive studio and location lighting experience. I am also familiar with alternative processes such as Polaroid transfers, darkroom techniques and alternative cameras, like the Holga.

I have been recognized as an outstanding photographer by several organizations including: Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant 1997; New England Associated Press News Executive Association, 2nd place portrait 2001, 1st place spot news 1999; National Press Photographers Association, Monthly clip contest 1st place spot news 1999, 1st place feature 2001, 2nd place feature 2000; Western Massachusetts Press Club, 2nd place spot news 1991.
